Belated Blog!

Hi Guys,

So, as a New Yorker I honestly didn't realize that public drinking in the United States was illegal. It's pretty typical to see somebody drinking a beer (or several beers) on the subway or Rail Road, especially during rush hour. It's also pretty common to see people drinking wine in public parks.

I wonder if prohibition which was one of the dominant features of the latter half of the 1920s and early 1930s in America would have ever passed in Germany. Although the bootlegging/illegial drinking associated with the prohibition era is generally what is remembered of the prohibition era, statistically alcohol consumption did diminish as a result of the legislation.

Why is JFK the picture on this blog? The Kennedy’s made their fortune as bootleggers in the 20s!

Best!
