Recycling: Just Another German Hobby

Since this is the last blog, I'm really going to do my best to relate this lovely article to our class. Get ready.

"Separating garbage in Germany is like a rigorous religious devotion."

As if the Germans weren't picky enough, they had to make some rules for the trash. It's cool, though, I agree with what they're doing. Colored bins make recycling so much more fun. Yeah, maybe you do have to spend a few extra seconds of your life to figure out what bin it should go in, so what? What doesn't kill you makes you stronger . Plus, you don't even have to worry

about it on Sunday, they're not open! So how does this relate to the class? No, it's not that awful thing that first came into your mind. It's much, much more than that.

See, we're the glass being recycled. When we came in here, we each individually made up a case of San Pellegrino (Yes, sparkling water) and after learning all these wonderful things this semester in German, it's time to be recycled. So there we go, into that bin made solely for glass bottles. Finally, we'll all come back as new bottles, full of and German knowledge and wisdom. Totally set for German 102.

Anyways, I know that was pretty lame. Moral of the story: Germans like to recycle

and we should, too.
